But your point is well-taken.  I usually let the leaves sit out while they are pretty and colorful.  Once they are all brown, I'll take my time over 3-4 months and rake them up.  In the case of the pictures posted here, the pile was created at the request of Butterfly.  It was destroyed to her enjoyment.</description>
